Job Description
The Field-Based Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) ensures that Company aircraft are maintained in a safe and airworthy condition by the airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, and Trans Aeros policy and procedure.
Responsible for maintaining and providing the current status of aircraft and forecast downtime
Perform aircraft maintenance, including inspection, modification, maintenance, and repair of aircraft, airframe, rotors, engines, and appliances by the procedures in the Trans Aero LTD General Operations Manual, Manufacturer’s documentation, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, and other approved data sources
Communicate, plan, and coordinate with the New Mexico 135 Maintenance Manager the maintenance schedule for base aircraft, considering factors such as workflow, location of equipment, facilities, tools, parts, supplies, and job requirements.
Communicate with the pilots and the clinical crew upon arrival at the base each workday for any questions or concerns about the condition of the aircraft, before beginning the workday
Provide after-hours maintenance/on-call support for the base(s) as required
Ensure discrepancies are accurately documented and addressed during maintenance and inspections
Maintain the field base to the Trans Aero LTD standard policy and procedure requirements
Take complete ownership and responsibility of the aircraft assigned to the base
Prepare and submit materials requests. Receive inventory and ship inventory to other locations.
Maintain company-owned local Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Ensure all necessary aircraft documents are completed and maintained by applicable 14 CFR Regulations, General Operations Manual, and company policies
Perform inspections on all incoming parts and materials immediately upon arrival
Ensure parts with a shelf life limit are removed from inventory before expiration
Request Secondary Maintenance Checks following any maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs or alterations
Ensure all company-owned and personally owned calibrated tools are kept up to date on the company-calibrated tool tracking log for their assigned base or location
Perform other duties as assigned
