MD Helicopters (MDH) has announced that Ryan Weeks has been appointed as the company’s new president, with his predecessor — Brad Pedersen — continuing as chief executive officer.
The appointment is effective immediately, and sees Weeks promoted after having served as MDH’s vice president of aftermarket service and support since August 2022.
He was a key part of a new leadership group, led by Pedersen, put in place after the company emerged from bankruptcy with new ownership following years of turmoil.
“I am honored for the opportunity to build upon the improvements we made under Brad’s leadership over the past 21 months” said Weeks. “We still have a lot of room for improvement, but our network and operators are saying MDH is making progress.”
In a press release announcing the news, MD said Weeks will assume responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operations in his new role, with Pedersen focusing on strategic initiatives with the board of directors.
“MD Helicopters continues to be deeply committed to strengthening our support for our customers around the world, said Ed Dolanski, chairman of the MDH board. “In a short two years, Ryan and Brad have drastically improved our aftermarket operations and we aim to continue to ensure the fielded fleet is the strongest it’s ever been.”
Since the new leadership group has been in place, MDH has made clear that its focus is on improving its customer support.
“Spare parts inventory-health continues to improve and MDH remains committed to achieving a 95 percent fulfillment rate from order placement to shipment within 48 hours on the top 1,000 part numbers,” the company’s press release stated.
