Pre-owned single-engine helicopter sales climbed slightly in the first half of 2024, the first increase in 18 months, according to new analysis from the Toronto-based Aero Asset market research firm.
Sales increased by four percent compared to the same period in 2023 after falling for three consecutive semesters.
“The supply of single-engines for sale also increased, but pricing remained steady versus the same timeframe last year,” said Valerie Pereira, Aero Asset’s vice-president of market research.
North American buyers accounted for 63 percent of all transactions in the first half of 2024, though Europe held the largest share of the supply at 35 percent, per the market report.
The most liquid single-engine helicopter market in the study period was the Airbus H125, followed by the Bell 407/GX/P/I and the Leonardo AW119K/Ke/Kx. The Airbus H130 was the least liquid platform on the market, with an absorption rate of 1.6 years, analysts said.
Europe had the largest share of the global single-engine supply (35 per cent) in the study period, followed by North America (25 percent) and Latin America (11 percent).
