WorldCast Group, a provider of audiovisual solutions and developer of the SureStreamer Heli video downlinking equipment, and HeliInc PLUS, the airborne public safety (APS) division of renowned helicopter services company Helicopters Inc based in St. Louis, have announced a strategic partnership to bring world class services and downlinking to the public safety market.
WorldCast has been providing their downlinking solution into the airborne public safety market for several years — a unique solution based on their proprietary Pure Packet Redundancy (PPR) algorithm, SureStream.
SureStreamer Heli has quickly become recognized as “the” only reliable cellular solution with ultra reliable, contiguous data streaming and less than 0.5 seconds latency air-to-ground – enabling unsurpassed situational awareness and safety for first responders on the ground.
HeliInc PLUS offers clients in the APS space everything from comprehensive turnkey airborne solutions and aircraft management/operations, to missionization and ongoing support for live video feed systems and other ISR mission equipment.
The company is one of the largest operators and maintainers of helicopters in the country and has specialized in turnkey management solutions, aircraft missionization, and live video imagery transmission technology for more than 40 years.
HeliInc PLUS personnel were introduced to the WorldCast system while viewing a flight between California and Florida, where MX10 camera video was downlinked in its entirety using WorldCast’s SureStreamer Heli.
David Likes, HeliInc PLUS Airborne Public Safety business manager, commented: “We were absolutely amazed when first viewing the downlinked video, especially over Arizona at 8,500 FT. The quality and robustness of the signal was outstanding.
“We had no hesitation to then invite WorldCast to a technical shootout over the course of a week in Van Nuys. Their technology performed significantly better than the other cellular solutions we have tested – no comparison.
“At HeliInc PLUS, Helicopters Inc’s Public Safety division, we aim to offer best-in-class solutions; the traditional microwave downlink has always been expensive and not fully reliable, but with our partnership with WorldCast we have eliminated that weak link.”
Nicolas Boulay, co-president, WorldCast Group stated: “We worked very hard in 2020/2021 to port our award winning SureStream algorithm into the new SureStreamer Heli. Launching the product to market in early 2022 we already have very happy customers with Orange County, Florida, Pennsylvania State Troopers and Seminole County, Florida, amongst others.
“To get an endorsement and form a partnership with a major aviation player such as HeliInc PLUS is a new milestone in our journey in providing the best aviation video downlinking solution on the market.”
